Stomping Grounds.

“In ‘Stomping Grounds’ the artist explores the subject of place and her relationship to it. The project travels across the North of England, from her current city of Manchester to her hometown of Darlington. Through the project she celebrates the domestic and suburban landscapes within them. The places featured are all fundamental spaces to the artist, whilst she acknowledges that to the outsider they are simply anonymous.

The artist creates a record of these memory scattered streets whilst suggesting that such locations are blank canvases where every way you turn may be a pivotal place to somebody. Combining photography, sound and archival images, the artist presents the places close to her, encouraging the viewer to see the beauty in the mundane and consider that we each have our own ‘Stomping Grounds’.”
